Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) has recently launched two new electric vehicles – BE 6E and XEV 9E. The delivery of both these electric SUVs will start in February 2025. Mahindra has launched a powerful electric SUV. Mahindra is going to compete directly with Tata Motors. Meanwhile, the question in people’s minds was whether Mahindra would also sell electric vehicles through a new dealership as Maruti Suzuki does through Arena and NEXA. Maruti sells its premium vehicles through Nexa. At the same time, Tata Motors has set up a separate sales channel to sell EV models. However, the answer to this has come from the company. Mahindra has said that it will sell its electric vehicles through the existing sales network.

You will get options for all vehicles in one place.

A top M&M official said the company wants to provide all options to customers in one place. Rajesh Jejurikar, Executive Director and CEO of M&M’s Auto and Agriculture Sectors said, “We want to keep the sales channel the same so that the customer can get a choice between ICE (internal combustion engine cars) and EV (electric vehicles). He was answering a question about whether the company would also consider setting up a separate sales network for its EV range.

 Deliveries will begin in February.

Notably, Tata Motors has set up a separate sales channel to sell EV models. Deliveries of the newly introduced EV models – BE 6E and XEV 9E – are expected to begin in February-March next year. The company currently sells one electric model – XUV 400 – in the market. Elaborating on the reasons for not having a separate sales network for EVs, Jejurikar said, “Customers should come to our outlets and see all the product, so that then they can choose, and sometimes they will take more than one (model). So this is one way to increase demand.” He said the company is creating a special team at the sales outlets to handle sales and service of electric vehicles.
