There is no charge for ordering a -PAN card by emaill. However, there will be a charge for physical PAN. According to the Income Tax Department FAQ, for a physical PAN card, the applicant has to pay a fixed fee of Rs 50 (domestic). The applicant will be charged Rs 15 + Indian postage for delivery of PAN cards outside India. Although the PAN 2.0 project is yet to start, taxpayers and individuals can currently receive their PAN on their email ID. If there is no email ID registered in the income tax database, taxpayers can update the email address in the income tax database free of cost under the PAN 2.0 project.
Steps to get Pa AN card from the SDL website
- Step 1: Visit the link: https://www.onlineservices.nsdl.com/paam/requestAndDownloadEPAN.html
- Step 2: On the webpage, enter the following information: PAN, Aadhaar (for individual only), Date of Birth.
- Step 3: After entering the required information, select the applicable tick boxes and click on Submit.
- Step 4: A new webpage will open on your screen, where you have to check your current details updated with the Income Tax Department. You will be asked to select the option where you want to receive aanOime Password (OTP).
- Step 5: Enter the OTP and verify. Remember that the OTP will be valid for 10 minutes.
- Step 6: Choose the mode of payment. Select the tick box to agree to the terms.
- Step 7: Check the payment amount and ‘Confirm Payment’.
- Step 8: Once the payment is done, click on Continue.
- Step 9: Once the payment is successful, the PAN will be delivered to the email ID updated in the Income Tax database.
