The parties of Mahavikas Aghadi have not yet been able to digest the terrible defeat in the Maharashtra assembly elections. After Sharad Pawar, now Uddhav Thackeray has also become aggressive about EVM. In the meeting of Shiv Sena (UBT), the defeated candidates of the party had expressed suspicion of the EVM scam. After this allegation, Uddhav Thackeray has now taken a big step. Uddhav has asked his defeated candidates to file a petition for recounting of VVPAT.

Candidates blamed EVM

In fact, since the election results, Mahavikas Aghadi has been raising questions about EVM. Shiv Sena (UBT) candidates have expressed suspicion of the EVM scam. In such a situation, Uddhav Thackeray has decided that a petition for recounting of 5 percent VVPAT will be filed at those polling stations where the EVM scam is suspected.

What is the rule of recounting?

Uddhav Thackeray has ordered all his defeated candidates to file a petition for recounting 5% VVPATs at the polling booths where the EVM scam is suspected. As per the rules, the defeated candidates can demand a recounting of 5% VVPATs within 6 days of the result. Today Uddhav Thackeray will hold a meeting with Shiv Sena leaders at noon.

Uddhav’s party is in bad shape in the elections.

Uddhav Thackeray’s party Shiv Sena UBT had fielded candidates on 95 seats in the Maharashtra Assembly elections. Out of these, only 20 candidates could win. On the other hand, Shiv Sena under the leadership of Eknath Shinde has won 57 seats. Let us tell you that earlier in the 2019 assembly elections, Uddhav’s party (undivided Shiv Sena) had won 56 seats. After the election results, Uddhav left his old ally BJ,P and formed the government with Congress and NCP.
