Bhadohi: A woman in Uttar Pradesh’s Bhadohi district allegedly committed suicide by jumping in front of a train along with her 2-year-old daughter. According to the information given by the police, the woman’s husband works in Surat, Gujarat, and had come home on the occasion of the festival. It is being told that the woman also wanted to go to Surat with her husband. Police said that when her insistence to go to Surat with her husband was not fulfilled, this 25-year-old woman named Lakshmi Devi allegedly committed suicide by jumping in front of a train along with her 2-year-old daughter.
‘Lakshmi Devi wanted to go to Surat with her husband’
Giving information about the incident, SHO Ramakant Yadav said that the woman jumped in front of the Bapu Dham Express going from Muzaffarpur to Prayagraj on the railway track behind Unjh police station with her 2-year-old daughter in her lap, due to which both died on the spot. He said that the husband of the woman, Virendra Bind, who lives in the Suriyawa police station area of Bhadohi district, works in Surat city. The police officer said that Virendra had come home on the occasion of Diwali and was preparing to return to work after the festival was over. He said that his wife Lakshmi Devi wanted to stay in Surat with her husband and 2-year-old daughter Riyashi.
She told her husband on the phone, ‘I am going to get hit by a train’
The SHO said that on Laxmi’s demand to take her to Surat, Virendra had said that he would take her along when he rented a room, but she was adamant about going with him. After a dispute on this issue, Laxmi left the house with her daughter and when her husband called and asked where she was going, she told him that she would die by getting hit by a train at Suriyava station. The SHO said that the woman’s husband and family members went to Suriyava to look for her, but the woman went in the opposite direction and jumped in front of Bapu Dham Express behind the limits of Unjha police station. He said that the police had sent the bodies of the deceased for postmortem.
