After the violence in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh, Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind President Maulana Arshad Madani expressed deep concern over the increasing communal incidents in the country and called the Sambhal incident a part of a conspiracy against Muslims, strongly condemned the changes in the Waqf Act and the attacks on the rights of Muslims. He said, “What is happening is extremely worrying. First the Babri Masjid, then the Banaras incident, and now this third issue of Jama Masjid. It is a rule that after 1947 mosques will remain as they were. Despite that, communalism is increasing in this country. Efforts are being made to harm Muslims.”
Madani’s big statement
Arshad Madani said that without taking the Muslim side into confidence, the team reached there for the second time to conduct a survey. Along with the police and the lawyers of the Hindu side, some people were shouting Jai Shri Ram on the streets near the mosque, hearing which Muslim youth came out of their homes and then there was a clash between them and instead of controlling the situation, the police opened fire on the Muslim side. Muslim youth died in this firing.
Madani claimed – more than three people died.
Jamiat Ulema claimed that more than three people have died due to gunshot wounds. It seems that the police have done this with full planning in connivance with communal people. Jamiat demanded that strict action should be taken against the police and administration officials who do not carry out their responsibilities properly. Also, cases should be registered against those who instigate by raising provocative slogans.
Let us tell you that in the violence that broke out in Sambhal on Saturday, there was heavy stone pelting, many vehicles were set on fire and many houses in the area were also damaged. Three people died in this incident, while many policemen were injured, and are undergoing treatment.
