On the formation of the Mahayuti government in Maharashtra once again, BJP National General Secretary Vinod Tawde said, ‘The voters of Maharashtra have given a tremendous victory to the BJP-Mahayuti. Eknath Shinde, Devendra Fadnavis, Ajit Pawar, and Ramdas Athawale fought the elections together under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. They ran the government properly. With the formation of the Mahayuti government in Maharashtra, Deputy Chief Minister and BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis’ mother Sarita Fadnavis said, “This is a big day as my son has become a big leader in the state. He was working hard 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. Of course, he will become the Chief Minister.”

Union Home Minister Amit Shah spoke to Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde and Deputy CMs Ajit Pawar and Devendra Fadnavis and congratulated them.

SP candidate Naseem Solanki defeated his nearest rival BJP’s Suresh Awasthi by 8629 votes in the Sisamau assembly seat. A total of 132973 votes were cast on this seat in which Naseem got 69666 votes and Suresh Awasthi got 61037 votes. In third place, Virendra Kumar got 1409 votes, Ashok Paswan got 266 votes, Krishna Kumar Yadav got 113 votes and 482 people pressed the NOTA button. 

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said, ‘Today I thank all the voters of Maharashtra because this victory is historic. I had said that the Mahayuti would get a huge majority. I thank my dear sisters, farmers, and all sections of the society. The public has voted for the work done by the Mahayuti, that is why the Mahayuti has got such a big victory.’

Ahead of the counting of votes for the Maharashtra assembly elections, senior Congress leader and party observer for Maharashtra Ashok Gehlot said, “If the exit polls are against us right now, they were in our favor during the Haryana elections. But when the results start coming, you will know the situation. We are confident that the people have reposed their faith in the INDIA alliance and blessed us. We have full faith and our workers are excited. Everyone in the INDIA alliance has fought the elections together, the atmosphere is in our favor. We hope that our government will come to power. We hope that the counting of votes will happen smoothly.” On the Rajasthan assembly by-elections, he said, “I hope the results will be good here too.”

BJP spokesperson Pratul Shah Dev said before the counting of votes in Jharkhand elections, “There is a lot of enthusiasm among the people. The night of 5 years has come to an end. Today’s morning is important for Jharkhand in many ways. NDA will form the government by winning the maximum number of seats in the history of Jharkhand.”

In the Mahayuti alliance, the Bharatiya Janata Party fielded candidates in 149 assembly seats, Shiv Sena in 81 seats, and the Ajit Pawar-led NCP in 59 constituencies. In the opposition MVA alliance, the Congress fielded 101 candidates, Shiv Sena (UBT) 95 and NCP (Sharadchandra Pawar) 86. Parties like Bahujan Samaj Party and AIMIM also contested the elections, with BSP fielding 237 candidates and AIMIM fielding 17 candidates.

A total of 288 counting centers have been set up for counting of votes in Maharashtra, including one center for the Nanded Lok Sabha by-election. An official said that a total of 288 counting observers will monitor each assembly constituency, while two observers have been appointed to monitor the counting of votes in the Nanded Lok Sabha by-election. Kedar Dighe, the Shiv Sena (UBT) candidate against Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde in Kopri-Pachpakhadi assembly seat in Thane, Maharashtra, on Friday alleged irregularities in the post-poll process, including keeping the voting material in the observation room instead of the ‘strong room’. He claimed that the observation room did not have CCTV cameras. He also showed some videos to journalists to substantiate his claim.

The ruling Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) in Jharkhand wrote a letter to the Election Commission on Friday night demanding the suspension of internet services within a radius of 2 kilometers of the counting centers. JMM has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of deploying electronic experts from other states here. JMM also demanded a complete ban on electronic devices near the counting centers.

The counting of votes will be done today for the Maharashtra and Jharkhand assembly elections.
