BCCI announced the name of Devdutt 

BCCI announced some time ago that Devdutt Padikkal has been included in the Indian team’s squad for the first Test, he is a left-handed batsman. Although Devdutt Padikkal made his Test debut this year, after that, he did not get a place in the Indian team. After this, now he is making a comeback in a way. There was already a possibility that Devdutt Padikkal could get a place in the first Test due to Shubman Gill’s injury. Now this has also been officially announced. 

The first test match was played in March this year 

Devdutt Padikkal played his first Test against England in Dharamsala in March 2024. Then playing at number four, Devdutt played a valuable innings of 65 runs. Then he came into the team in place of Virat Kohli and was seen playing at number four. But this time he has come into the team in place of Shubman Gill and may be seen batting at number three. 

Devdutt was playing for India’s A team. 

Recently when India A played against Australia A, he batted well. He scored 88 runs in the second innings of the first match. However, after this, he could not play a big innings. He has been in Australia for a long time, so he has become familiar with the challenges there, which is why he has been given a chance in the team. Now it remains to be seen how he takes advantage of the second chance he has got.
