Indian badminton star PV Sindhu’s journey in China Masters Super 750 ended with a defeat in the second round. Sindhu lost 2-1 in a three-set match against Singapore’s player Yeo Jia Min in the women’s singles match held on November 21. PV Sindhu had started the tournament in a great way when she defeated higher-ranked player Busanan Ongbamrungphan and made it to the second round, however here she had to face a tough challenge against Jia Min and she could not manage to win.
Sindhu tried to make a comeback by winning the second set.
PV Sindhu had to face a one-sided 16-21 defeat in the first set against Yeo Jia Min in the second round of China Masters Super 750. After this, Sindhu made a strong comeback in the second set and won it 21-17 bringing the match to a 1-1 draw. In the last set, a tough competition was seen between the two players in which Sindhu was ahead 13-9 at one time, but Jia Min, apart from playing aggressively, took advantage of Sindhu’s mistakes and won 21-23, ending Sindhu’s journey in this tournament. This match between the two lasted for a total of one hour and 9 minutes.
The pair of Trisha Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand also had to face defeat.
Talking about the performance of other Indian players in this tournament, in women’s doubles, the pair of Anupama Upadhyay and Malvika Bansod lost to the pair of Liu Sheng Shu and Tan Ning of China in the second round in straight sets 16-11 11-21. Apart from this, Anupama had to face defeat against Natsuki Nidaira of Japan 7-21 14-21 while Malvika lost against Supanida Ketthong of Thailand 9-21 9-21.
