When will Dev Deepawali be celebrated?

The festival of Dev Diwali is celebrated on the day of Kartik Purnima. According to the Panchang, this year the Kartik Purnima Tithi will start from 6:19 am on November 15. This Tithi will end at 2:58 am on November 15. That is, it is natural that this Tithi will not prevail till the morning of November 16. The Udayatithi will be on November 15 only, so the holy festival of Dev Diwali will be celebrated on November 15 only.

The religious significance of Dev Diwali is that on this day, Mahadev, the God of Gods, is worshipped. According to a legend, on this day Lord Shiva killed a demon named Tripurasura and freed the gods from the fear of Tripurasura. That is why the day of Dev Diwali is also called ‘Tripurari Purnima’. On this occasion, it is considered important to earn virtue by lighting lamps and taking a bath in the Ganga.
