The Indian stock market opened with a gain today, but a decline was witnessed in the initial trade itself. The Bombay Stock Exchange index Sensex opened with a rise of 185 points at 80,563 today. In the initial trade, it was seen trading at 79,573 with a decline of 1.02 percent i.e. 806 points. In the initial trade, out of the 30 stocks of the Sensex pack, 6 stocks were seen in the green zone and 24 in the red zone. On the other hand, the National Stock Exchange index Nifty was seen trading at 24,230 in the initial trade, with a decline of 1.04 percent i.e. 253 points. Out of the 50 stocks of the Nifty pack, 8 stocks were seen in the green zone and 42 in the red zone.
These stocks saw a decline
The biggest losers in the Nifty pack were Hindalco (6.52%), Adani Enterprises (3.09%), Bajaj Finserv (1.58%), UltraTech Cement (1.49%) and Grasim (1.256%). The biggest gainers were Apollo Hospital (6.30%), Tata Steel (1.22%), Coal India (0.86%), HCL Tech (0.75%) and Wipro (0.49%).
Status of sectoral indices
Talking about sectoral indices, the biggest decline was seen in Nifty Metal by 1.37 percent and Nifty Pharma by 1.01 percent. Apart from this, Nifty Bank fell by 0.44 percent, Nifty Auto by 0.56 percent, Nifty Financial Services by 0.68 percent, Nifty FMCG by 0.47 percent, Nifty IT by 0.47 percent, Nifty Private Bank by 0.56 percent, Nifty Healthcare Index by 0.21 percent, Nifty Consumer Durables by 0.58 percent and Nifty Midsmall Healthcare by 0.51 percent. At the same time, Nifty Oil & Gas rose by 0.31 percent, Nifty Realty by 0.50 percent, Nifty PSU Bank by 0.35 percent and Nifty Media by 0.73 percent.
