Before the mega auction of IPL 2025, a big revelation was made on the evening of 31 October. All 10 franchises announced the names of the retained players. Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals retained the maximum number of 6 players each. However, Kolkata released its captain Shreyas Iyer, who made them champions last season. Apart from this, Lucknow Super Giants also released KL Rahul. Rishabh Pant and Delhi have also parted ways. In such a situation, now all three players will be seen making a splash in the mega auction of IPL 2025. There can be a fierce battle in the auction between all the teams to buy all the three players.
In fact, never before have three IPL captains been seen in the pool in any auction. This will be the first time when Delhi Capitals’ Rishabh Pant, defending champion Kolkata Knight Riders’ Shreyas Iyer and Lucknow Super Giants’ KL Rahul will be seen trying their luck in the auction.
Pant can make a new record in the auction
A top official of a franchise told PTI that the real bid for Rishabh will start from Rs 20 crore. There will be three teams that can bid big for him. One is Punjab Kings which has Rs 110.5 crore. They need a new captain and a brand. RCB has Rs 83 crore and Lucknow Super Giants has Rs 69 crore and they also need a new captain.
There will be fierce competition in IPL auction
There will definitely be a good bid for all three star players in the IPL 2025 auction, but there is also a possibility that Rishabh Pant can become one of the highest paid players in IPL. Now it will be interesting to see which teams will compete in the auction to buy all three players.
