Featuring Sanjay Dutt as a gangster, ‘Vaastav’ talks about the importance of family. During the festival of Diwali, Sanjay comes out of his hideout to meet his family. There was a moment in the film where Sanjay Dutt explains to his mother (Reema Lagoo) the value of the gold he wears while uttering the most famous dialogue ‘Yeh dekh pachas tola’. Directed by Mahesh Manjrekar, the film also featured Namrata Shirodkar, Sanjay Narvekar, Mohnish Bahl, Paresh Rawal, Reema Lagoo, and Shivaji Satam in lead roles.

The 1994 Bollywood film ‘Hum Aapke Hain Kaun’ had a lovely Diwali scene in which Renuka Shahane’s character gives birth to a cute baby boy in the middle of the festival. The whole family celebrates Diwali on the occasion of his arrival. A popular song ‘Diktana’ from this film is memorable. Directed by Sooraj Barjatya, the film also featured Salman Khan, Madhuri Dixit, and Mohnish Bahl in important roles.
