A new chapter has been added to the history of the Bangladesh cricket team. Bangladesh team has got the first batsman who has achieved a special position in Test cricket. This batsman is none other than the team’s experienced wicketkeeper-batsman Mushfiqur Rahim who has created a new record by completing 6 thousand runs in Test cricket.

The first test match is being played between Bangladesh and New Zealand at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka. On the very first day of the match, the entire Bangladesh team collapsed for just 106 runs in the first innings. After this, South Africa scored 308 runs in their first innings on the second day. Bangladesh has made a better comeback in the second innings and the team has put 101 runs on the scoreboard by losing 3 wickets till the end of the day’s play. Mahmudul Hasan Joy returned unbeaten after scoring 38 runs and Mushfiqur Rahim returned unbeaten after scoring 31 runs.

As soon as Mushfiqur Rahim added 28 runs to his account shortly before the end of the day’s play, he created a new history by completing 6000 Test runs. Rahim has become the first Bangladesh batsman to score 6000 runs in Tests. Before this, no batsman had been able to do this feat for Bangladesh.

Mushfiqur Rahim has so far scored 6003 runs in 72 innings of 93 Test matches at an average of 38.48. During this time, he has scored 11 centuries and 27 half-centuries. His best score in Test cricket is 219 runs not out. Mushfiqur, who made his Test debut against England at Lord’s in 2005, is one of the most dangerous batsmen of Bangladesh. However, it took him a long time of 19 years to touch the figure of 6 thousand Test runs.
