Auspicious time of worship on Karva Chauth

  • Karva Chauth fast is observed on the Chaturthi Tithi of Kartik month. In the year 2024, the Chaturthi Tithi of Kartik month will start on October 20 at 6:48 am and will last till midnight.
  • Karva Chauth Puja is performed in the evening. Also, the story of Karva Chauth is recited during this time. The auspicious time for evening Puja on October 20 will be from 5:46 pm to 7:01 pm. That is, the auspicious time for Puja on the day of Karva Chauth will be about 1 hour and 16 minutes. You should worship Karva Chauth in this Muhurta only.
  • The time of moonrise on the day of Karva Chauth will be 7:54 am. However, moonrise may vary slightly from place to place. Women observing fast will see the moon after the puja and after that, the fast will be broken by drinking water given by the husband.
  • If married women worship Karva Chauth at an auspicious time, then along with good fortune, they also get happiness and prosperity in their married life.

If you don’t see the moon on Karva Chauth, break your fast like this.

Karva Chauth fast is not considered complete without seeing the moon. However, in some places, the moon is not visible due to the weather. If something similar happens to you, then you should break the fast by looking at the picture of Lord Shiva. The moon is considered a devotee of Lord Shiva and the moon also sits on the head of Lord Shiva. In such a situation, if you break the fast by looking at the picture of Shiva in the absence of the moon, then you get the same results as breaking the fast by looking at the moon.
