The Assistant Development Officer (Agriculture) who left his duty place and went to Maa Vindhyavasini Temple in Mirzapur district of UP wearing shoes along with his acquaintances has been suspended on the instructions of the District Magistrate. Protests had started after seeing the ADO wearing shoes in the temple. Seeing the ADO wearing shoes on the temple premises, Sadar MLA Ratnakar Mishra stopped him. The angry MLA read the ID card worn around his neck reprimanded him and immediately threw him out of the temple premises.

After the matter came to light, there was a stir among the officials. In an official statement on Sunday, it was informed that the Assistant Development Officer (ADO) who left his duty place and climbed the Maa Vindhyavasini temple wearing shoes along with his acquaintances was caught by the city MLA Ratnakar Mishra and scolded and brought down from the temple.
Suspended as soon as DM’s order is received
When the District Magistrate came to know about this incident, he instructed to suspend the ADO with immediate effect. According to a press release issued by the state’s information department, Assistant Development Officer Prateek Kumar Singh, who was made Sector Magistrate during the Sharadiya Navratri fair, left his original duty place and went to Vindhyavasini temple to take his acquaintances for darshan. The statement said that taking cognizance of the incident of the Sector Magistrate wearing shoes in the temple premises and leaving his duty place, Prateek Kumar Singh has been suspended with immediate effect on the instructions of District Magistrate Priyanka Niranjan.
City MLA Ratnakar Mishra said, “When he saw the said sector magistrate climbing the temple wearing shoes, he scolded him and asked him to come down from the temple.” However, when asked if he had complained about this to the District Magistrate, he denied it.
