In UP, incidents of obstruction of railway tracks before the passing of trains are not stopping. One such incident has come to light again. On Sunday, near Raghuraj Singh railway station in Kheeron police station area of Raebareli district, the loco pilot of a passenger train stopped the train after seeing a pile of mud on the railway tracks. Police confirmed this incident. Kheeron police station’s SHO Devendra Bhadoria said that some mud had fallen on the railway track from a dumper, which was removed and after the mud was removed, train movement started. He said that the matter is being investigated.
The dumper driver ran away after putting mud on the track.
Local villagers said that road construction work is going on. In this, the work of transporting soil by dumper is done at night. Eyewitnesses said that even late on Sunday evening a driver was carrying soil in a dumper. At around 7.55 in the evening, he suddenly dumped soil on the railway track and fled with the dumper towards Khiron. Shortly after that, a shuttle train running between Rae Bareli and Raghuraj Singh station arrived, but when the loco pilot saw soil on the railway track, he stopped the train beforehand. The speed of the train was also low due to the station being at some distance. A major accident was averted due to the presence of mind of the loco pilot.
The train was pulled out at a slow speed.
After removing the soil from the railway track, the train was taken out at a very slow speed. During this time, a large number of villagers also gathered at the spot. Gateman Shivendra Pratap Singh said that the train had arrived at the outer of Raghuraj Singh station, so the speed was low. If the speed had been higher, the train could have derailed. At present, the police have started searching for the truck driver.
