The Madhya Pradesh government organizes an award ceremony every year on the death anniversary of Bollywood’s legendary singer Kishore Kumar. This year, film director Rajkumar Hirani has been selected for this award ceremony to be held on October 13. The Madhya Pradesh government will honor renowned filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani with the prestigious Kishore Kumar Samman 2023. The award ceremony will be held in Kishore Da’s hometown Khandwa on October 13, which will be on the occasion of his death anniversary. The event will be held at the Police Parade Ground.
One of the finest filmmakers of Indian cinema, Rajkumar Hirani has constantly raised awareness in society through his films. Known for directing classics like 3 Idiots, PK, Sanju, Munna Bhai MBBS, and Donkey, Hirani’s films have shaped the narrative landscape of Bollywood over the last two decades. 2024 marks the continuation of Hirani’s 20-year journey in Indian cinema, having debuted as a director in 2003 with the iconic Munna Bhai MBBS.

The Kishore Kumar Samman is a prestigious award that has previously been given to some of the most iconic personalities of Indian cinema, including Amitabh Bachchan, Dilip Kumar, Manoj Kumar, Dharmendra, and Shatrughan Sinha. Hirani will join the esteemed list this year with the award being presented by Bhopal’s culture department. The government has also organized a special program this evening. On October 13, ‘Kishore Night’ will be organized where Kishore Kumar’s songs will be celebrated. Mumbai’s famous singer Neeraj Shridhar and his team will perform some of Kishore Da’s most loved songs, making it a nostalgic experience for music lovers.
