Joker: Folie a Deux
Folie a Deux is a sequel to the 2019 hit film Joker. In this film, we once again see the character Arthur Fleck played by Joaquin Phoenix. Directed by Todd Phillips, this new story delves even deeper into Arthur’s mind. What makes it different this time is that it includes different music, which brings a different twist to the story.
Clown – The Story and Performance of Folie a Deux
In Folie a Deux, Arthur is in the institution of Arkham Asylum and is struggling to come to terms with becoming the Joker. The film beautifully shows his inner conflict as well as his romance with Harleen Quinzel, played by Lady Gaga. Their chemistry is strong and Gaga brings her singing talent to the character.
The film also has a great supporting cast, including Brendan Gleeson, Catherine Keener, and Zazie Beetz. Each character adds joy to Arthur’s world, making the story more powerful.
How is the cinematographer?
Cinematographer Lawrence Sher creates stunning visuals that capture the dark feel of Gotham. The look of the film, combined with Todd Phillips’ direction, transports the audience into a world where chaos and art coexist, disturbing Arthur’s mind. The film explores mental illness and society’s ignorance of it. It also shows how love and music can change a person.
Despite some flaws, Joker: Folie a Deux Sequel is better than ever. If you are a fan of Lady Gaga and like to watch such movies then definitely watch this one.
