Delhi Police busted an international drug syndicate, recovered more than 500 kg of cocaine, worth more than Rs 5 thousand crores

New Delhi: Delhi Police’s Special Cell has achieved a major success today. The Special Cell has busted an international drug syndicate and recovered more than 500 kg of cocaine and hydroponic marijuana. Along with this, 4 accused involved in this racket have been arrested. The cost of this huge consignment of cocaine is said to be more than 5 thousand crores. The Special Cell has started an investigation on the narco terror angle.

 

 

Biggest drug seizure ever

Delhi Police has caught the biggest-ever drug consignment in the city. According to officials, more than 560 kg of cocaine and 40 kg of hydroponic marijuana have been seized from the accused. The estimated cost of this drug consignment is around Rs 5,620 crore.

The names of the accused came to light.

Officials said that the Delhi Police Special Cell arrested four persons from Mahipalpur in South Delhi and seized a consignment weighing 602 kg from them. The arrested persons have been identified as Tushar Goyal, Himanshu Kumar, Aurangzeb Siddiqui, residents of Delhi, and Bharat Kumar Jain, residents of Mumbai.

International drug smuggling gang

It is said that an international drug smuggling gang is behind this huge consignment of cocaine. This action of the Delhi Police is a part of the ongoing campaign against drug smuggling. Delhi Police is interrogating the accused arrested in this case in which many more revelations are expected. Delhi Police can take more such actions in the coming time.

How were the accused caught?

Additional Commissioner of Police P S Kushwaha of Delhi Police’s Special Cell has said that Tushar Goyal is the main distributor of drugs in India for this international gang. Bharat Kumar Jain had come to Delhi to collect a consignment of 15 kg of cocaine from Goyal. However, on October 1, all four were arrested outside a warehouse in Mahipalpur. 22 cartons of banned drugs were found in the warehouse, which contained 547 kg cocaine and more than 40 kg hydroponic marijuana. 

Where did the drugs come from?

The official informed that the source of hydroponic marijuana is Phuket in Thailand. He said that it was brought to India by air, while the cocaine consignment is suspected to have been collected from West Asian countries and states of India. Officials have suspected Goyal to have links with Dubai and West Asian countries.
