The Chhattisgarh government has changed the names of two schemes running under the previous government. Two schemes named after former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi have been renamed. These two schemes of the Urban Administration and Development Department in the state have been renamed after the late Jan Sangh leader Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay. Senior state officials said that the names of two schemes run by the Chhattisgarh Urban Infrastructure Development Fund have been changed.
Named after Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya
The order in this regard was issued on September 18 and uploaded on the government website on September 30. Officials said that the name of Rajiv Gandhi Swavalamban Yojana has been changed to Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Swavalamban Yojana in the state. At the same time, the name of Rajiv Gandhi Ajeevika Kendra Yojana has been changed to Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Ajeevika Kendra Yojana.
Officials said that both the schemes were already named after Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay, but the previous Congress government changed it to Rajiv Gandhi in 2019. State Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sai said that earlier these schemes were named after Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay ji and now they have been renamed after him again. Sai also holds the Urban Administration Department.
“BJP government has no new plans”
State Congress communication wing chief Sushil Anand Shukla has criticized the state government’s move. He said that the BJP government does not have any new scheme, so it is changing the names of the schemes of the previous government led by Bhupesh Baghel.
