Amidst the controversy over adulteration in Tirupati laddu, Samajwadi Party MP Dimple Yadav alleged that shops in Mathura are selling ‘adulterated khoya’. The SP MP has demanded an investigation into this. Dimple Yadav said that adulteration in Tirupati laddu prasad is a ‘very serious’ matter. This has hurt the religious sentiments of the people.

The SP MP said, ‘Due to the failure of the Food Department, adulterated food items and oil are causing very serious illness to people. The Food Department is careless and silent in this matter. Without mentioning the source of the report, he said, ‘There are reports that the ‘khoya’ being sold in Mathura is also adulterated. The BJP government should conduct an inquiry in both cases.’

It is known that the Food Safety and Drug Administration (FSDA) in Uttar Pradesh has collected 13 samples of ‘prasad’ from the major temples of Mathura for testing. Its report has not come out yet.

Tirupati temple laddus contains animal fat.

Recently, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu claimed that animal fat was used in making Tirupati laddus. CM Naidu also showed the lab report. Naidu’s claim has given rise to a political controversy in Andhra Pradesh.

The YSR Congress Party has accused Naidu of spreading hatred among people for political gains. The ruling Telugu Desam Party (TDP) in the state has circulated a laboratory report to support its claim.
