Prime Minister Narendra Modi is addressing the Summit of the Future at the UN. PM Modi said that just now in June in India, in the world’s largest elections in human history, the people have allowed us to serve the country for the third consecutive time. Today I have come here to convey the same voice of one-sixth of the world to you. When we are talking about the global future, the human-centric approach should be the first. While giving priority to sustainable development, we will also have to ensure human welfare, food, and health security.
By lifting 250 million people out of poverty in India, we have shown that success is possible through sustainable development. We are ready to share this experience of success with the Global South. Along with this, he said that reform in global institutions is necessary for global peace and development. Reform is the key to relevance. Getting permanent membership of the African Union in G-20 in New Delhi was a step in this direction. On one hand, terrorism is a big threat to global peace and security, on the other hand, many areas of conflict have emerged like cybercrime, maritime security, and space. On all these subjects, I would strongly say that global action is necessary.
“Balanced regulation is needed for safe and responsible use of technology. We need a global digital governance in which national sovereignty and integrity remain intact. Digital public infrastructure should be a bridge and not a barrier,” said PM Modi at the ‘Summit of the Future’ at the United Nations.
