Patna: Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to connect Punaura Dham, the birthplace of Maa Sita, located in Sitamarhi district, by road and rail. He has requested PM Modi to direct the concerned ministry to complete the construction work of Ram Janaki Marg being built by the Government of India from Ayodhya to Sitamarhi district so that devotees can have convenience in traveling from Ayodhya to Punaura Dham. Along with this, the Prime Minister has also been requested to direct the Railway Ministry to operate a Vande Bharat train between Ayodhya and Sitamarhi. The Chief Minister has written that the construction of this route will facilitate the devotees in coming to Punaura Dham, the birthplace of Maa Sita, as well as Ayodhya.

Punaura Dham has great religious importance.

In this letter, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar wrote, ‘First of all, I congratulate you for the construction of the grand temple of Lord Ram in Ayodhya and the work done for the development of the holy city of Ayodhya. I am very happy to tell you that Punaura Dham located in Sitamarhi district under the state of Bihar is famous as the birthplace of Mother Sita. Like Ayodhya, the birthplace of Lord Ram, Punaura Dham, the birthplace of Mother Sita, also has great religious significance. The Bihar government has decided to acquire 50 acres of land here and expand and beautify the temple complex of Mother Sita under Punaura Dham.’

The construction of Ram Janaki Marg should be completed soon.

The Chief Minister has written that it is a matter of satisfaction that the Government of India is working on the construction of Ram Janaki Marg from Ayodhya to Sitamarhi district. With the construction of this road, devotees will be able to visit Punaura Dham, the birthplace of Mother Sita, along with Ayodhya. He has requested that necessary instructions be given to the concerned ministry to complete this road soon.

The Chief Minister requested rail connectivity and wrote, ‘The Government of India has done many public utility works in recent times in connection with railway connectivity, in which the operation of Vande Bharat train is also important. Bihar state has also benefited from this, for which I especially thank you. Better rail connectivity between Ayodhya and Sitamarhi will be very convenient for the devotees. He has written requesting that appropriate instructions be given to the Railway Ministry for the operation of a Vande Bharat train between Ayodhya and Sitamarhi as well.’
