acting

Kareena Kapoor Khan looks very comfortable in the role of Jasmeet with British and Indian actors. Kareena looks effortless on the big screen and watching her in such an impressive style is not only interesting but also a treat. Kareena’s performance is captivating. Despite being the center of the story, she is giving space to the other actors. This time Kareena’s performance has very strong roots. It would not be wrong to say that director Hansal Mehta has proved completely successful in bringing Kareena on screen for the first time in such an avatar.

Chef Ranveer Brar is a natural in the role of Daljeet Kohli, the father of the deceased child. This is Ranveer’s debut film, but his style is like that of a seasoned actor. He has managed to convince the audience with his acting by showing a misogynistic husband, unwavering love for his son, and the tragedy of losing him. Aish Tandon also deserves a mention, who has completely adapted to the role of a grieving police officer. Prabhleen Sandhu’s work in the role of Preeti Kohli is also commendable. British writer, musician, and actor Keith Allen is also impressive. Sarah Jane Dias is also seen in a small role, which is worth watching. Kapil Redkar is in the role of Saqib and he also deserves praise. Kapil’s work is commendable.

Direction

Hansal Mehta is a renowned storyteller and once again he has made an entertaining film that has many layers to grab the attention of the audience. It shows communal tension between communities over a cricket match and then a murder. It also tells the story of issues faced by the LGBTQ community and drug abuse among teenagers. There is also a glimpse of an extramarital affair.

Mysterious murder stories always attract attention, especially when they are portrayed realistically. Director Hansal Mehta has not missed a single thing in telling the story of this film. This film is a well-thought-out story, so it has plenty of suspense, thrill, and drama. The story brings out all the intrigues and twists that you expect. Hansal Mehta has tried to tell this story in the style of British directors. He has cleverly cast British actors in the lead roles and a mix of Punjabi, Hindi, and English is seen in the film. Cinematography, production design, and sound design give more strength to the story. There is also a human angle in the film, which gives an emotional touch to the story. In such a situation, this film is going to be added as another link in the list of successful films of Hansal Mehta.

How is the movie after all

This film will keep you hooked till the end. The story unfolds layer by layer. The acting of the actors is also excellent. The direction is good, so this film is worth watching in the theatre. If we talk about the shortcomings, then the climax is a bit weak, which could have been made more powerful. There are one or two places where the suspense becomes a little loose, if this shortcoming had been overcome then this film could have been given half to one mark more. This shortcoming of writing can be ignored because most of the parts are effective and make it a film worth watching.
