This is the 8th time in the history of Test cricket that a Test match has been canceled without a single ball being bowled. This has been witnessed for the first time in 26 years in Test cricket. The last such Test match was played between India and New Zealand in 1998 at Carisbrook in Dunedin when not even a single ball could be played in the Test match. This happened for the first time in the year 1890 when not even a single ball could be bowled in the Test and now this unique incident has been witnessed after the year 1998.

When not a single ball was played for five consecutive days in the history of Test cricket

This has happened for the second time in Asia. This happened for the first time in 1998 at Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad, Pakistan. In this match, the teams of Pakistan and Zimbabwe could not play even a single ball.
