Petrol and Diesel Price Hike: The prices of petrol and diesel have been increased by Rs 4 per liter. That is, now you will have to pay Rs 4 more per liter to buy petrol and diesel. Mizoram Taxation Minister Dr. Vanlalthalana said that this increase in the price of petrol and diesel has been done to raise funds for social infrastructure and road maintenance.

The decision has been taken for the benefit and welfare of the people

Dr. Vanlalthana said, “The government has imposed a new levy of Rs 2 per liter on both diesel and petrol for social infrastructure and service cess and Rs 2 per liter for road maintenance.” He said the new prices have come into effect in the state from September 1. He said the government has taken this decision for the benefit and welfare of the people.

Petrol and diesel prices are still lower than in 2021

The state’s taxation minister said that despite the total increase of Rs 4 per liter and the recent increase in VAT charges, the current prices of petrol and diesel in the state are lower than the prices of the year 2021. The Mizoram government had recently issued a notification to increase VAT on petrol from 5.23 percent to 10 percent and on diesel from 16.36 percent to 18 percent.

The new price of petrol is Rs 99.24 and the new price of diesel is Rs 88.02

After this latest hike in fuel prices by the government, the current price of a liter of petrol in the capital Aizawl has become Rs 99.24 and the price of diesel has become Rs 88.02 per liter. Let us tell you that before this new hike, the price of petrol in the state was Rs 93.93 per liter and the price of diesel was Rs 82.62 per liter. Let us tell you that the state is ruled by the ‘Zoram People’s Movement party, which formed the government by winning the assembly elections held last year.
