Suhas Yathiraj: Suhas Yathiraj has won the silver medal in the SL4 category of men’s singles badminton at the Paris Paralympics 2024. He has become the first Indian player to win two medals in badminton in the history of the Paralympics. He had to face defeat in the final match against Lucas Mazur of France. He lost the match 9-21, 13-21, and had to settle for the silver medal.

Suhas Yathiraj lost the match easily

Suhas Yathiraj had to face defeat in the first game by 21-9. In the first game, he did not look in rhythm at all and Lucas Mazur of France dominated him. After losing the first game, it seemed as if he would lose the match very easily. But in the second game, he tried to make a comeback and give tough competition to Lucas Mazur. But in the end, the second game also went in the name of the French player. He won this game 21-13.

He was also defeated by a French player in Tokyo

41-year-old Suhas Yathiraj, a 2007 batch IAS officer, had to face defeat in a one-sided match. Lucas Mazur had defeated Suhas three years ago in the Tokyo Paralympics and this time too he could not overcome the challenge of the French player. Suhas, who was born with a disorder in his left ankle, plays in the SL4 category. India has now won four medals in the Paris Paralympics para-badminton. Kumar Nitesh won gold, Tulsimati Murugesan won silver, Manisha Ramdas won bronze and Suhas Yathiraj won the silver medal.
