She won the bronze medal in the 100-meter race. 23-year-old Preeti finished third in the women’s 100-meter T-35 final. With this, she has become the first Indian to win a medal in a track event at the Paralympic Games. Earlier on this day, Avani Lekhara won the gold medal in the women’s 10-meter air rifle SH1 final event while Mona Agarwal won the bronze medal.
Preeti won the medal in the women’s 100-meter (T35) event with a personal best time of 14.21 seconds. China’s Zhou Jia managed to win the gold while her compatriot Guo Qianqian won the silver medal. Zhou clocked 13.58 seconds. Guo took 13.74 seconds. Preeti’s bronze medal is India’s first medal in para-athletics at the Paris Paralympics. Preeti Pal has been doing wonders since the beginning of this year.
