Paris Paralympics 2024: On the second day of Paris Paralympics, the process of medals falling in India’s bag continues. India has got its fourth medal in the Paris Paralympics. India’s para pistol shooter Manish Narwal has won the silver medal. Manish finished first in the men’s 10m air pistol SH1 final event. Earlier, Manish had won the gold medal in the Tokyo Paralympics. In this way, he has now joined the club of select Indian para-athletes who have won medals in 2 consecutive Paralympics. Manish’s gold medal in the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics came in the Mixed P4 50m Pistol SH1 event.

South Korea won the gold medal

22-year-old Manish Narwal was leading for a long time, but due to continuous poor scores, he fell behind, and experienced South Korean shooter Jo Jongdu took the lead. Narwal finished second with a score of 234.9 while Jongdu won the gold medal with a score of 237.4.

India has won 4 medals on the second day of Paris Paralympics. Avni Lekhara won the gold medal in the women’s 10-meter air rifle (SH1) event while Mona Agarwal won the bronze medal. At the same time, Preeti Pal won the bronze medal by finishing third in the 100-meter race. Talking about the points table, India has reached the 9th position with 4 medals (1 gold, 1 silver, and 2 bronze). 

Got 5th place in the qualification round 

Narwal, a resident of Faridabad, finished fifth in the qualification round with a score of 565. Meanwhile, India’s Rudraksh Khandelwal could not make it to the finals and finished ninth with a score of 561.
