The Election Commission has sent an invitation to the media for this press conference. This press conference is going to be held at Vigyan Bhavan in Delhi. The term of the Haryana Assembly ends on November 3

The term of Haryana Assembly is ending on November 3, while the term of Maharashtra Assembly is ending on November 26. The Election Commission also plans to hold assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir before September 30. This deadline has been set by the High Court. The Commission recently visited Jammu Kashmir and Haryana to review the election preparations, but it has not visited Maharashtra yet. Often, before announcing the election dates, the Commission’s team visits the concerned state and reviews the election preparations there. Therefore, it is believed that the Commission can announce the dates for the assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir.

First assembly election after removal of Article 370

After delimitation in Jammu and Kashmir in May 2022, the number of assembly seats has now increased to 90. There are 43 assembly seats in Jammu and 47 in Kashmir Valley. Earlier, elections were held on 87 assembly seats in 2014. At that time, elections were held on 37 seats in Jammu, 46 in Kashmir Valley, and 6 in Ladakh.
