How will the weather be on August 15 across the country including Delhi? IMD has issued a warning of heavy rain in 19 states

New Delhi: Independence Day will be celebrated in the country tomorrow. Rain is expected in many states including Delhi on 15 August. The Meteorological Department has warned of heavy rain in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan till 18 August. Heavy rain may occur today and tomorrow in Haryana, Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir. At the same time, heavy rain is forecast in Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh on 14 August i.e. today.

How will the weather be in Delhi on 15 August?

The Meteorological Department has issued a ‘yellow alert’ for rain in Delhi-NCR for the next three days. The IMD has predicted cloudy skies and light to moderate rain on Wednesday. The maximum and minimum temperatures on Wednesday are likely to hover around 33 and 26 degrees Celsius. Delhi-NCR received intermittent rains on Tuesday and the maximum temperature was recorded at 33.6 degrees Celsius, 0.6 degrees below normal.

There will be heavy rain in these states too 

According to the Meteorological Department, heavy rainfall is expected in Arunachal Pradesh till August 15. Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura may receive heavy rainfall till August 17. Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, West Bengal, and Sikkim will likely receive light to moderate rainfall from August 14 to August 16. Heavy rain is expected at some places. The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rains in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karnataka, Kerala, and Lakshadweep till August 16.

Red alert for heavy rain in Rajasthan

Due to continuous heavy rain in Rajasthan, schools in many districts including the capital Jaipur remained closed on Tuesday as well. 22 people have died due to rain-related incidents in the state in two days. Meanwhile, the weather department has issued a ‘red alert’ i.e. warning of very heavy rain in many areas on Wednesday as well. According to the Weather Center, Jaipur, there is a strong possibility of heavy and sometimes very heavy rain in some parts of Bharatpur, Jaipur, Ajmer, and Kota divisions on August 14. On August 15-16, moderate and sometimes heavy rain may occur in some parts of eastern Rajasthan.
