New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has changed his profile photo while joining the Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyan. He has put a photo of the tricolor in his profile picture. Before Independence Day, he appealed to crores of countrymen to do the same. While changing his profile photo, he wrote, “This year, as Independence Day approaches, let us all together make Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyan a memorable mass movement. In another tweet, PM Modi also talked about the Quit India Movement, which proved to be a milestone in the country’s independence. PM Modi has shared a video in which he has given information about the movement. Sharing this video, he wrote “Tribute to all those who participated in the Quit India Movement under the leadership of Bapu. It was indeed an important moment in our freedom struggle.”

 

 

What is the Every Home Tricolor Campaign?

PM Modi launched the Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyan in 2022 on the completion of 75 years of the country’s independence. Under this campaign, it was said that the tricolor would be hoisted on the roofs of 20 crore houses in the country. The government had spent a lot on this campaign and before this, the rules for hoisting the flag were also changed. After the change in the rule, permission was given to hoist the tricolor even at night.

What was the Quit India Movement?

On August 8, 1942, Mahatma Gandhi called for an end to British rule. He started the Quit India Movement at the All India Congress Committee session in Mumbai. This movement proved to be a successful effort in the country’s freedom struggle and the country gained independence. During this time many freedom fighters sacrificed their lives.
