Sultanpur: Aam Aadmi Party’s Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Singh surrendered in the MP-MLA Special Magistrate Court of Sultanpur district on Thursday in the case of violation of the Model Code of Conduct. After this, a bail application was filed on behalf of Sanjay Singh.
The court had issued a warrant
After the hearing, the court ordered the release of Sanjay Singh on bail and personal bond. The case was heard in the court of Special Magistrate Shubham Verma. On April 13, 2021, Bandhua Kala police station in-charge Praveen Kumar Yadav registered a case against Sanjay Singh and his supporters under the Model Code of Conduct charges. After the charge sheet, other accused in the case were on bail, while the court had issued a bailable warrant against Sanjay Singh for not appearing.
It is noteworthy that during the Panchayat elections, Sanjay Singh held an election rally in the Asanpur area of Bandhua Kala police station area without permission. After this, a case was registered against Sanjay Singh and others for violating the code of conduct.
In 2021, the police station in-charge had lodged an FIR
Special Public Prosecutor Vaibhav Pandey said that on April 13, 2021, Bandhu Kala police station in-charge Praveen Kumar Singh had lodged an FIR. It was alleged that at 3:30 in the afternoon, Sanjay Singh was holding a meeting in Hasanpur village in favor of his party’s Zila Parishad member candidate Salma Begum, for which he did not have permission. This meeting of Sanjay Singh violated the Epidemic Act.
