Aarti has great importance in puja because no puja is considered complete unless aarti is performed. This means that without Aarti, the puja is considered incomplete due to which the devotee is not able to get the full results of the puja.
But many people knowingly or unknowingly make some mistakes while performing the Aarti of God due to which their worship is not considered complete and hence they do not get auspicious results. Let us know the right way to perform the Aarti of God.
This is the right way to perform Aarti
You should always perform Aarti standing at one place in the temple. You should perform Aarti by bowing slightly. While performing Aarti, the plate or lamp should be rotated 4 times at the feet of the Lord, 2 times at the navel, 1 time at the face, and 7 times at all the other body parts.
If you perform aarti in this way, your salutations reach the fourteen arms of God and they become pleased and fulfill all your wishes.
Aarti Thali should be like this
You should always use brass, copper, or silver plate for Aarti. Doing this is considered auspicious. Apart from this, Ganga water, kumkum, rice, sandalwood, flowers, and fruits or sweets for offering must be kept in the Aarti plate. A brass or silver lamp is very auspicious during Aarti. Apart from this, if you want, you can also perform Aarti with a lamp made of flour or clay.
Keep these things in mind
According to Skanda Purana, if you use ghee made from cow’s milk for worship, it is very auspicious. By the way, it is always auspicious to light a ghee lamp to perform the Aarti of God.
But if you want, you can also perform aarti with a mustard oil lamp. If you wish, you can also perform the Aarti of God by burning camphor. This destroys negative energy from the house.
