Dramatic Incident: A girl from a different religion was about to get married to a girl from a different religion, and a few minutes before that the police dragged the bride away. During this time the bride kept shouting and saying that she did not want to go, but the policemen forcibly dragged her away.

The bride was produced before the magistrate
The bridegroom has told in an interview with a TV channel that the bride Alfia was later taken to a magistrate’s court, where she gave a statement that she had gone with the groom Akhil of her own free will. Alfia said, ‘Akhil had also reached there and after recording my statement, I was allowed to go with Akhil.’
Had to produce the girl in court: Police
In this matter, now the police have given clarification and said that there was a complaint of the kidnapping of the girl, which had to be presented in court. A senior police officer from Alappuzha district said that a missing complaint was lodged at Kayamkulam police station and they had to present the woman in a court there.
The officer said, ‘The officials were instructed to produce the woman in the court. They were only performing their duty. I am not aware of any use of force by them. The girl told the court that she wanted to go with the groom and she went with him. He said he would investigate whether the officers involved had used force or not.
The girl’s parents had filed a complaint
Alfia said that the police took her even though she had given a statement a few days back that she was going with him to marry Akhil of her own free will, whom she had known for more than a year. “After that a missing complaint was lodged at Kayamkulam police station. This complaint was lodged by my parents. They don’t want me to be with him (Akhil). They want to take me away from him.
Akhil told me what happened before when he was going to get married. He said, ‘The police had come in two vehicles from Kayamkulam. They prevented the marriage from happening and forcibly dragged her (Alfiya) away. She said, ‘Even at the Kovalam police station, they did not let me go near him, they pushed me and misbehaved with me. This kind of behavior was not expected from the police. Even after this incident, Akhil and Alfia have decided to get married. However, Akhil said that he would complain about the conduct of the police.
