The gift of the first Vande Bharat train to the Northeast will boost the tourism sector

Vande Bharat train built with indigenous technology is one of the ambitious projects of Indian Railways. Vande Bharat trains are running on different routes in different states of the country. Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off Assam’s first Vande Bharat Express train through video conferencing.

Vande Bharat Express will cover this journey in 5 hours 30 minutes, while the current fastest train takes 6 hours 30 minutes to cover the same journey. There will be no service of this train on Tuesday. The new service will cover the 411 km distance between Guwahati and New Jalpaiguri in 5 hours 30 minutes, significantly reducing the travel time from the shortest available currently by the fastest train.

The Vande Bharat Express train service will run six days a week and will be the fastest train in the region and will benefit IT professionals, businessmen, students and tourists. This will help in reducing travel time as well as providing pollution free transport

This train will be the first Vande Bharat train in Northeast and third in West Bengal. The trial run of this train took place on Sunday 21 May between New Jalpaiguri and Guwahati. This is the second Vande Bharat train to run from New Jalpaiguri, earlier the Vande Bharat train was run from New Jalpaiguri to Howrah.
