An official has said that the census, which is to be held once in ten years across the country, was postponed due to the corona epidemic, which is now not possible before the Lok Sabha elections.

However, it has been decided where the questions will be asked to the people of the country in the next census. In the upcoming census, people will be asked a total of 31 questions, including whether they have a smartphone, internet, laptop, computer, car, two-wheeler or not.

It may be noted that the process of updating the National Pollution Register (NPR) across the country was supposed to take place between 1 April and 30 September 2020, but due to the Corona epidemic, this census exercise was postponed.

However, the new date has not been announced by the government since then. Three million government employees are needed to complete the entire process of census and they mostly include teachers. These personnel are given two to three months training for census.

At the same time, Lok Sabha elections are likely to be held in April or May next year. As a result, the census exercise is not being started from October as preparations for the Lok Sabha elections will begin from October. In which the process including updating the voter will begin.

According to the Office of the Registrar General and Census Commissioner, people will be asked 31 questions during the census. Other issues including toilet, bathroom, LPG or PNG connection will be asked.
