PM Modi in New Parliament Building Prime Minister Narendra Modi received a warm welcome on his arrival at the New Parliament Building. MPs welcomed Prime Minister Modi by clapping. Slogans of ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ and ‘Modi Modi’ were echoing all around. He was warmly welcomed by all the MPs and Chief Ministers. There was no stopping the applause.
After the puja, the Prime Minister installed a ‘sengol’ next to the Speaker’s chair in the Lok Sabha chamber. He prostrated before him and sought the blessings of all the temples in Tamil Nadu. Meanwhile, he took the blessings of various priests of Tamil Nadu with the holy scepter in hand.
What did speaker Om Birla say?
Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla said, “By placing Sengol next to the Speaker’s chair, PM Modi has not only reiterated the country’s cultural tradition but also given it a new dimension.” Along with this, on the occasion of the inauguration of the new building of Parliament, PM Modi and other leaders including Lok Sabha Speaker released new postage stamps.
‘Every Indian is proud’
Along with this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, ‘Today every Indian is filled with pride after seeing the new Parliament building.’ It also has architecture, heritage, art, skills, culture and structure. The interior of the Lok Sabha is based on the national bird peacock, the interior of the Rajya Sabha is based on the national flower lotus. There is also a national banyan tree in the Parliament complex. He said that this new building will be a means of realizing the dreams of our freedom fighters. This new building will witness the sunrise of a self-reliant India.
