The Indian economy is currently one of the fastest growing economies of the world. Union Information Technology and Communications Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said here on Saturday that India is poised to become the world’s fourth largest economy in two years due to the policies and ground-level steps taken by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government. He said that after the Modi government came in 2014, rapid social and economic changes have taken place in the country.
Information given by Ashwini Vaishnav
Vaishnav, who is also holding the responsibility of the Ministry of Railways, said that globally India is being seen as an attractive destination and the world is reposing faith in India. He said that after the Modi government came to power in 2014, India has moved from 10th to 5th position and within two years the country will become the world’s fourth largest economy.
India will become a developed country by 2047
Vaishnav said, ‘Within 6 years India will become the third largest economy in the world.’ He was speaking at a conference organized on the completion of nine years of the Modi government. He also said that India will become a developed country by 2047.
The United Nations released this report
The Indian economy is expected to grow at 6.7 per cent in calendar year 2024 on the back of strong domestic demand. This has been estimated in a United Nations report. However, the report said that high interest rates and weak external demand will affect the country’s investment and exports this year. The UN report ‘Global Economic Status and Prospects to Mid-2023’ was released here on Tuesday.
