New Delhi, May 28 (Hindustan Times). Prime Minister Narendra Modi formally inaugurated the new Parliament building in Raisina Hills today (Sunday) morning. The inauguration ceremony started with a prayer. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla is also present along with Prime Minister Modi. Both participated in the Havan.
After this, the Prime Minister installed the sacred scepter ‘Sengol’ in the new building. The Adinam Saints of Tamil Nadu handed over the sacred scepter ‘Sengol’ to Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi yesterday.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has tweeted – ‘The entire country is proud of the magnificent culture of Tamil Nadu. It is truly a pleasure to see the culture of this great state glorified in the new Parliament House.
He has said in another tweet that the new Parliament of India is actually a beacon of our democracy. It reflects the country’s rich heritage and dynamic aspirations for the future.
