Dehradun, May 27 (Hindustan). Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Ganesh Joshi said that tourists come to visit Uttarakhand due to its natural beauty. There is a need to develop hearty tourism in the department. Soon a botanical garden will be built in Dehradun.

283.61 lakh project has been approved in the State Level Sanction Committee meeting held under the Chairmanship of Chief Secretary for setting up Flower Block and Botanical Garden in Dehradun district. The project will be set up on government land near the military station in Dehradun.

The minister informed that the project has been designed to provide information about a wide range of plant collections, advanced techniques of agriculture and horticulture, museum, open theatre, variety of figures, library, canteen, attractive waterfalls and tourist spots. Also plant protection and various latest industrial technologies will be displayed. This garden will be useful for botanists, nurserymen, gardeners, landscapers as well as students. The operation of this scheme will give new direction to other underdeveloped gardens of the state and create new dimensions of employment.

The project will develop barren areas and make riverside land accessible to tourists by landscaping with trees and plants on the lines of hearty tourism and tourists can come and enjoy a variety of fruits. , vegetables and flowers. can do

The Agriculture Minister said that the scheme will also be linked with the ADB project so that it will be expanded. The project will be very useful for the department to promote hearty tourism in the tourism sector. Tourists visiting Uttarakhand will find various activities related to horticulture at one place.

The Agriculture Minister said that he has directed the officials of the Horticulture Department to implement the action plan approved under the National Agricultural Development Scheme, and timely steps should be taken to link it with hearty tourism.
