The NITI Aayog meeting chaired by Prime Minister Modi in Delhi, Chief Ministers of 8 states did not attend

The eighth meeting of NITI Aayog is underway at New Convention Center in Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. PM Narendra Modi is presiding over this meeting. However, eight Chief Ministers were not present in this NITI Aayog meeting. Eight main topics will be discussed during this meeting.

 

Eighth meeting of NITI Aayog

The eighth meeting of NITI Aayog’s Governing Council is underway at the New Convention Center in Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. The theme of the meeting is ‘Developing India @ 2047: Role of Team India’. Eight Chief Ministers including West Bengal’s Mamata Banerjee, Bihar’s Nitish Kumar, Telangana’s K Chandrasekhar Rao, Tamil Nadu’s MK Stalin, Rajasthan’s Ashok Gehlot and Kerala’s Pinarayi Vijayan did not attend the meeting. Apart from this, Delhi’s Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab’s Bhagwant Ma have directly boycotted this meeting.

Eight main topics will be discussed in the meeting

In this meeting, PM Modi is discussing issues related to health, skill development, women empowerment and infrastructure development with the aim of making India a developed nation by 2047. Earlier, NITI Aayog had said that the day-long meeting would discuss eight key topics. These key themes include a developed India @ 2047, emphasis on MSMEs, infrastructure and investment, compliance reduction and women empowerment. Topics such as health and nutrition, skill development and driving forces for regional development and social infrastructure are also covered. Today’s meeting will be attended by Chief Ministers, Lieutenant Governors of all states and Union Territories, ex-officio members of Union Ministers and Vice-Chairman and members of NITI Aayog.
