Shubman Gill: The secret of how a teetotaler became an explosive batsman after scoring a century against Mumbai

Shubman Gill: About a year ago, Shubman Gill missed a century in international cricket. Father and opening coach Lakhwinder Singh was unhappy with this. Shubham had scored a hundred in ODIs against Zimbabwe last year and since then he has become used to it. Shubman Gill is scoring runs at a strike rate of 156 in this IPL. His strike rate was 132 last season and 119 before that. He does not have a single century in IPL (IPL 2023) before this season. So how did Gill’s performance turn out so much? After winning the Man of the Match award, 23-year-old Gill said, ‘Since the last West Indies tour, I think I have started changing gears. I got injured before the last IPL but I kept working on my game. I have worked on a few areas and made technical changes before the New Zealand series after the T20 World Cup.

Shubman Gill hit 47 sixes in 5 seasons and made his IPL debut in 2018. Gill hit a total of 47 sixes between 2018 and 2022. He has hit 33 sixes this season alone. Earlier in one season, he had hit 12 sixes for KKR in 2021. Gill hit 10 sixes in the match against Mumbai Indians.
