He said that 60 to 65 percent of animal maintenance comes down to nutrition alone. Farmers should adopt scientific crop rotation in animal husbandry farms and produce maximum green fodder. Feeding green fodder to cattle increases milk production. Green fodder is rich in carotene, an essential vitamin for animals.
How to feed cattle in hot weather
The research scholar said that by growing sorghum, maize, chari, millet, chai in the summer season, livestock farmers can get more production at low cost. For green fodder, pastoralists mix pulses and pulses and sow them in their fields. Due to which the cattle breeders can get more profit.
Animals get vitamins from green fodder
Dr. Ramanresh said that by feeding green fodder to the animals, the animals get a supply of vitamins, carbohydrates and proteins. Due to which animals stay healthy and milk production increases. Each dairy cow should be fed 15 to 20 kg of green fodder per day.
