Budget airlines GoFirst has announced that all its flights will remain canceled till May 30. The company says that it will also issue refunds to all passengers as soon as possible. The company has given the reason for canceling the flight as ‘operational’. The information about the cancellation of flights has been shared by the company on its official Twitter account. GoFirst flights have been canceled continuously since May 3.

The company has also informed the public that it has filed a petition seeking immediate resolution of the company’s problems and revival of operations. It will resume bookings soon. Aviation sector regulator Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on Wednesday asked GoFirst to prepare a comprehensive restructuring plan. Along with this, it has also been asked to tell when it will resume its flights, as well as prepare a permanent plan for this.

GoFirst had sought relief from NCLT to avoid initiation of insolvency proceedings against it. On his plea in this regard, the NCLT passed an order on May 10, giving relief to the company. GoFirst is having difficulty operating its flights due to a Pratt & Whitney Company engine failure. Due to which the company has come in a state of bankruptcy. Half of the company’s 54 aircraft are not airworthy due to faulty engines.
