Raipur: The first meeting of the Chhattisgarh State Consumer Protection Council was held at the ministry in Mahanadi Bhawan on Friday under the chairmanship of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Minister Amarjit Bhagat. Food Minister Bhagat said on the occasion that the state government is moving forward to protect and promote the interests and rights of consumers by forming the Consumer Protection Council. We all have to work with participation keeping in mind the interests of consumers.
Minister Bhagat said that it is the responsibility of the state government to protect the interests and rights of consumers. Under the Consumer Protection Act, State Consumer Protection Councils have been constituted to advise on the protection and promotion of consumer rights. He told the members present in the meeting that you will do all the necessary work related to the basic interests of the consumers in the State Consumer Protection Council. In the State Council meeting, discussions were held with all members of the Council to advise the State Government on measures to be taken to protect consumer interests and make consumers aware of their rights. The State Consumer Protection Council shall advise the State Government from time to time regarding the interest of consumers in the State.
