How does this virus spread?
According to a report, every year 25 people in the US are infected with the Powassan virus. Powassan virus is usually transmitted to humans through the bite of an infected deer tick, groundhog tick, or squirrel tick. Human cases of Powassan virus have been reported in the US, Canada, and Russia.
Symptom
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, most people infected with Powassan virus have very few symptoms. It may take 1 week to 1 month for symptoms to appear in infected people.
