A court has sentenced a man to life imprisonment for kidnapping and raping a six-year-old girl in 2015.
The court said that the accused had committed rape and murder in Thande College. The accused has committed such an inhuman act that he is getting no sympathy from the court.
Accused Ravinder was convicted on May 6 under Section 6 of the POCSO Act, Sections 376A and 302 of the IPC.
Assistant Sessions Judge Sunil Kumar said that this crime does not fall in the category of rare to rare but the act of the accused in this case is so heinous and inhuman that he cannot get any sympathy from the court.
The judge further said that the act of the accused was no less than that of a violent animal and the crime had shocked the conscience of the society.
The judge said that the victim in this case was a six-year-old child so innocent that she was not aware of the evil intentions of the accused. I am of the firm opinion that the accused deserves no mercy and should be given the maximum punishment.
The judge also imposed a fine of Rs 50,000 on the accused and directed him to pay Rs 15 lakh as compensation to the victim’s parents.
