Bhubaneswar/Angul. A shocking incident has come to light in Odisha’s Gajapati district. Here a man killed his wife and cut off her head and threw it in the field.
According to information, the horrific incident took place on Thursday under Kashinagar police station area of Gajapati district of Odisha.
The deceased have been identified as Urmila Karji and accused husband Chandra Shekhar Karji alias Munna. According to reliable reports, he went to the farm with his wife in the morning, where the two had a fight over some issue.
Place the severed head in front of the house
Seeing Munna returning from the field with his wife’s severed head in his hand, panic spread among the villagers. Reaching home, he put his head in front of the door of the house. The frightened villagers immediately informed the local police about this terrible incident.
As soon as the information was received, the police reached the spot and found Munna sitting calmly near the severed head. During police interrogation, the man admitted that he killed his wife and dismembered her. After this they separated the head from the torso. He further stated that he left the body in the field and brought the head home.
The killing has not been disclosed
After the accused confessed his crime, the police immediately swung into action and arrested the accused husband. The police took the body and head out of the house and seized it from the farm and sent it for postmortem. However, the reason behind this heinous murder is yet to be known.
Police are probing the matter as per the information received, Urmila Chandrasekhar had second wife and she also has a two year old child. Chandrasekhar alias Munna’s first wife left him a few years ago after assaulting him.
