Kota, May 25 (Hindustan Times). Small Industries Bharti Kota, Kota North and Ranpur units to Chief Minister District Collector O.P. This burden on new units is illegal-

He informed that discoms in the state are continuously charging fuel charges of 7 paise per unit for 36 months from 2018 and for the next 60 months in 2022. Both these amounts have been given by the Supreme Court to Adani Power and Raj. In case of Vidyut Utpadan Nigam, it is against the decision in favor of Adani Group. The discom’s dispute is between 2012 and 2018, when fuel charges are being collected from units commissioned after 2017.

Why DISCOM’s losses are to the general public-

He told the Chief Minister that if an industry consumes 1 lakh units of electricity per month, a total fuel charge of Rs 18 lakh per month is levied under both the heads. Now industries will be charged 52 paisa per unit of fuel, due to which the burden will increase by Rs 63 thousand per month. Electricity distribution company is doing gross injustice by demanding huge amount from small industries. When there is no hike in electricity rates by RERC, why are discoms passing the burden of their shortfalls on the common citizens. Due to this increase, many small units will be in a position to close down, which will also end employment opportunities. If the levy of fuel charges is not stopped, all the small businessmen of the state will protest and go to court.
